Let's get it started :)

Via FTP:
  1. Extract the anymag.zip file and upload the extracted folder to the /wp-content/themes/ folder on your server.
  2. Go to Appearance > Themes.
  3. Click on "Activate" to select your theme.
Via WordPress:
  1. Extract the contents of the downloaded zip file to your computer.
  2. In your WordPress admin, go to Appearance > Themes and click the Add New button on the top and after the Upload Theme button.
  3. Browse the folder where you extracted the previous zip file, and select the file called anymag.zip.
  4. Click the Install Now button and then click Activate link .
  1. In Appearance > Themes, select Begin installing plugins link.
  2. Select the Required plugins checkboxes and the Recommended plugins (if you want to use them) from the list
  3. Choose Install in select box.
  4. Click Apply button.

You should get All installations and activations have been completed message after the successfull instalation.


If you plan to use your website as a shop, you can install WooCommerce plugin (go to Plugins and search for "WooCommerce").

Please read it's documentation for more info

If you use this theme the first time, we recommend you to import Demo Data

It contains menus, sample pages, posts and images to help you to understand how the theme works.

  1. Navigate to Appearance > Import Demo Data.
  2. Select the theme you want to import and click the Import button.
  3. Wait up to a few minutes for importing process complete.

attention When choosing this option, all the existing content of your website will be lost and replaced with new data. We recommend using this option for new WordPress installations only.

You can easily customize your theme using the live customizer.

Go to Appearance > Customize to manage your blog options.

Customizer contains 18 sections:

  1. Site Identity: Your blog logo, title, tagline and icon.
  2. General: You blog main options such as Home and Categories/Archive page layouts.
  3. Fonts: Set and manage your blog fonts.
  4. Site Menu & Header: You blog main menu colors and settings.
  5. Cover: Your Home page cover image and settings.
  6. Post Slider: Post slider settings.
  7. Home Page: Home Page Elements.
  8. Post Archive: Show settings for your posts on the Home and Categories/Archive pages.
  9. Single Post: Settings for your single posts.
  10. Colors: Colors for your posts on the Home and Categories/Archive pages.
  11. Page: Page settings.
  12. Social Links: Set social links to display on the header and footer.
  13. Footer: Logo, colors and settings for footer.
  14. Advertising Area: Show your advertising banner.
  15. Menus: Manage your blog Menus.
  16. Widgets: Manage your widgets.
  17. Homepage Settings: Display your posts or static page.
  18. Additional CSS: Additional CSS styles.
Apperance > Customize > General

Blog Posts Style

In this section, you can choose a style for your Home, Archihe and Categories pages.

Fold Shadow Opacity

You can set the opacity for the fold shadow effect.

Apperance > Customize > Fonts

Anymag has advanced font settings to make your website look close to the real magazine.

In this section, you can select fonts and set the font size, weight, line height and letter spacing.

Apperance > Customize > Cover

Here you can set the Cover Image, displayed on your Home Page and the logo for Home and Single Post pages.

You can set cover overlay color and opacity.

You can set the logo width and position.

Video Cover

You can set a YouTube video as the cover

Enter the YouTube video full path with https:// in the YouTube Video Url field

You can set YouTube start and end time in seconds. For example, if your video cut starts from 1 min 35 sec, enter 95 in the Video Start field

You can set the value to scale the video to fit your Cover

Apperance > Customize > Slider

Anymag theme comes with the Post Slider where you can feature your posts with linked images.

If you want to use the slider area please make sure you switch Enable Slider checkbox to "ON".

By default, Post Slider displays your latest posts.

If you want to display a specific posts, just enter featured posts IDs separated by comma.

How to identify a post id

To find post a id go to Posts > All Post

Hover your mouse over the post you want to find the ID for. Now, take a look in the bottom-left corner of the browser.

The post ID is the number that comes after the “post=” and before the “&“.

You can set the number of displayed slides in the Numbers of Slides field.

You can set the slider height.

You can also show/hide Category, Author and Date.

Apperance > Customize > Home Page

Intro Line

This option allows you to display an Intro Line on the top of the Home Page.

tip You can use <i>, <strong>, <b> tags to change the font style and color inside the tag.

Random Posts

This option allows you to display random posts.

If you want to use this area on your website, please make sure you switch Show Random Posts checkbox to "ON".

You can choose between Classic and Overlayed post item styles.

Featured Category

This option allows you to display a Featured Category on the Home Page.

Apperance > Customize > Post Archive

In this section, you can find the settings for displaying your posts on Home, Categories and Archive Pages

You can show/hide post elements, set image height and the border radius and choose style for hover effects.

Apperance > Customize > Single Post

Here you can find the settings for the Single Post

Post Page Logo

In this area, you can set the width and position for the logo displayed on the single page.

Please make sure you have uploaded the logo in the Cover section.

Single Post Title

In this area you can edit your title style.

Post Meta

In this area you can enable/disable your post meta such us Author, Date, Categories and Tags.

Post Elements

In this area, you can enable/disable About Author Box, Post Navigation, Related Posts and Comments.

Social Share

Enable/disable your social shares.

Apperance > Customize > Slider

In this section, you can select the color for most website elements, including site background color, font color, link, buttons, navigation, and more.

tip You can set the color for almost everything but we recommend not using more than 3 colors. You can also use some online tools for picking color schemes, such as Coolors

Apperance > Customize > Page

In this section, you can display and hide Page Share Links and Page Comments for your pages

To set widgets for your page, go to Appearance > Widgets on WordPress main menu.

On the right side, you'll see 2 widgets sections for the Side Bar and Instagramm Footer.

Just drag & drop a widget you want to display into the desired section.


Anymag comes with 6 custom widgets:

attention Please be sure you have installed "Anymag Core" plugin to enable custom widgets.

Yo can add the Cover Lines from the Widgets area.

There is 2 widgets to do it.

Anymag theme has a few custom Elementor block

Please install Elementor plugin to use these options

  1. Anymag Blog Displays your latest posts sorted by category
  2. Anymag Title Displays header/title for blocks
  3. Anymag Slider Displays post slider
  4. Anymag Featured Category Displays featured category
  5. Anymag Random Posts Displays posts sorted by random or category

Animag theme contains shortcodes that you can use for posts/pages content and widgets.

  1. Go to Appearance > Menus
  2. Click create a new menu link and enter your menu name
  3. Click Create Menu button
  4. Select menu items from the left side and click Add to Menu button
  5. Select the Header Menu checkbox from the right side

To create a post, go to Posts > Add New on WordPress main menu

Enter a post title and add content.

You can add a featured image as well. Featured image displays above the post content.

You can set categories for your post

You can create 4 different types of posts: standard, gallery, video, and audio.

Video as the Featured Image

Creating page is similar to creating a post.

To create a new page, go to Pages > Add New on WordPress main menu.

Enter a page title and add content.

You can add a featured image as well. Featured image is displayed above the page content.

You can change the page template in the drop-down menu on the right side "Page Attributes" box.

Click "Publish" or "Update" to save changes.

First, please ensure that you have installed and activated the Contact Form 7 plugin.

Creating a contact form

On your WordPress Main menu, go to Contact > Add New

In the Form tab you can see a simple form code for display on your contact page.

In this form you can add telephone, checkboxes, drop-down menu, etc. if you need.

These options are available on the top of the form.

In the Mail tab, you can edit your email, from, subject and message body.

important Please be sure to navigate to the "Mail" tab and insert your own email address in 'To:' field.

In the Messages tab, you can edit your email, from, subject and message body.

After setting up your form, click the Save button.

You'll see generated code snippet at the top of the page, highlighted in blue.

Copy this code to paste into your Contact Page.

Creating the page

Create a new "Contact Me" page in Pages > Add New.

Paste your previously generated short code in the text box on the create/edit page .

Save your contact page. Link to the Contact page will appear in your top menu.

You can create multiple issues sorted be month, topic or category.

1. Go to Appearance > Customize > General

Activate the Enable Multiple Issues toggle.

2. Delete the Cover Image in Appearance > Customize > Cover

3. Create the new page for your Issue in the Featured Image section

4. Set the Cover Image for this Issue

5. Set the tag for this page. July2021 for example

6. In the Settengs > Reading select this page as a static

Now you can araange the page structure using shortcodes or Elementor editor.

For the shortcodes, use tag="July2021".

For the Elementor, just enter the tag related to this issue in the 'Tag' field.

Also, use this tag for the 'Simple Cover Line' and 'Banner with Link' widgets.
